Biography

Sasipha Wongvisetson is a highly accomplished Thai-qualified lawyer at Opus Law International, bringing a wealth of experience from top-tier international law firms. With a strong foundation in corporate and commercial law, she provides strategic, clear, and commercially astute advice to both Thai and international clients.

Education & Qualifications

Sasipha's academic excellence was established early, graduating with First-Class Honors from the prestigious Faculty of Law at Chulalongkorn University (LL.B., 2013–2017). She is a licensed attorney with the Lawyers Council of Thailand (2018–Present) and is also a qualified Notarial Services Attorney (2022–Present), having completed the required theoretical and practical training.

Professional Experience

Sasipha joins Opus Law after a significant tenure at Baker & McKenzie Ltd. , one of the world's leading international law firms. As an Associate in their Corporate and Commercial Practice Group in Bangkok (2018–2025), she was a core team member on numerous high-profile and complex transactions.

Her experience includes:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions: She played a key role in major M&A deals, including advising The Siam Commercial Bank on the spin-off of its life insurance business to FWD Group, and assisting Reckitt Benckiser Group with multi-jurisdictional corporate restructuring. She also advised on the restructuring and sale of the Vetz Petz Group, with a focus on Foreign Business Act compliance.

  • Cross-Border Transactions: Sasipha has significant experience advising multinational corporations on their Thai operations. She regularly advised LVMH Group (Louis Vuitton, Dior, etc.) on establishment, consumer protection, and data privacy compliance. She has also assisted global clients like Procter & Gamble, Goodyear, and Baxter with investment promotion privileges.

  • Regulatory & Corporate Advisory: She has provided critical legal opinions to listed companies such as PTT Global Chemical and Nippon Life on fiduciary duties and board responsibilities. Her expertise extends to advising on anti-bribery compliance and contributing to legislative reform, having provided opinions to the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand on proposed amendments to the Civil and Commercial Code.

  • Commercial Contracts: Sasipha is highly skilled in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, joint venture documents, and complex dispute resolution notices. Notably, she managed a complex JV exit for Ruxchai Group, collaborating with Baker McKenzie Vietnam to navigate cross-border legal challenges.

Prior to Baker McKenzie, Sasipha honed her skills at Kudun and Partners, where she gained valuable experience in M&A, corporate restructuring, and dispute resolution, including preparing evidence for arbitration proceedings.

Publications & Pro Bono Work

A thought leader in her field, Sasipha has co-edited several key publications, including the "Doing Business in Thailand" guides for Baker McKenzie (2021, 2025). She has also contributed her expertise to public service, conducting comparative legal research for the government's Omnibus Law Project and preparing reports for the Subcommittee on Capital Market and Insurance on Thailand's economic development.
